Welcome from Elizabeth J. Stroble, President of Webster University
Last July, Webster University engaged Sasaki & Associates, an internationally recognized and celebrated planning and urban design firm, to work with us as we develop our St. Louis campus master plan, which will guide us for the next 15 years and beyond. We know that universities must evolve to provide relevant and meaningful learning experiences for the changing needs of students in the 21st century. Provost Julian Schuster is leading the campus planning process.
We are delighted to be working with Sasaki, a firm known for its collaborative process. Sasaki has completed over 400 master plans for colleges and universities across the U.S. and around the world. Their integrated approach to planning and design includes engaging the community and campus constituencies, strategic and academic planning, space needs analysis and sustainability ideas – all critical as Webster University transforms to the next level – the advancement of global academic excellence as we move toward our centennial in 2015.
Welcome from Julian Schuster, Provost and Senior Vice President
The planning process for the St. Louis campus formally began in September and is expected to take approximately one year to complete. The project comprises four phases: assessment, exploration, master plan development and community engagement. Throughout the planning process, the Sasaki team will engage with students, faculty, staff and community members to garner suggestions and input as possible alternative concepts are developed.
The master plan to be developed by Sasaki presents a singular opportunity for Webster University to advance its academic programs in ways that support our distinctive characteristics; that is our global reach, our high quality education and our personalized approach to learning.
This website will be updated as each phase of the process is completed and will enable members of both the internal and external community to stay current on the exciting developments, as well as provide feedback to the planning team regarding the campus master plan. I hope you will visit it often.
